Rising Tight Ends In Fantasy Football

So many NFL fantasy football owners are always looking for that ultimate value. While tight ends might not rack up the points like other positions, a strong tight end can make a difference in the win-loss column.

As offenses continue to utilize their tight end as a passer, there is a new crop of talented players poised for a bit of a breakout season. Here are three of the top ones to watch in your leagues.

Jacob Tamme. The former Indianapolis Colt will be teaming up with his old pal Peyton Manning this year in Denver. That is good news for both, as they both had some of their best seasons playing together. Although Tamme has been somewhat of a career NFL fantasy football backup or waiver wire guy, he should earn a starting spot as the featured tight end for the Denver Broncos.

Fred Davis. Many know his name by now, but he has still never broken into that elite level of tight ends. He has a chance to do so this season, especially if he can stay out of trouble off the field. With Robert Griffin III now throwing him passes, expect an even better year for Davis in 2012. Fantasy NFL owners should try and pick him up in the middle rounds before it is too late. He will not end up lasting too long on draft boards if owners are smart in your league and see his potential this season.

Jared Cook. Now in his fourth season, the tight end continues to get better and better for the Tennessee Titans. He has always had the physical tools to compete with anyone in the league, but now he is finally putting it all together to play better. Many compare him to Jermichael Finley, and if he can put up numbers like he does, he should be in great shape.
